Smelly update...

I've had many suggestions as to how best to get rid of 'The Smell' - it's that bad it deserves capital letters, and that's how many days later...

  • slice of lemon in water
  • raw potato cut in half
  • raw onion cut if half
  • white vinegar

I've now bought several refills for plug-in air fresheners and tried several of the methods mentioned above.

The result.

There is still a burnt smell lingering but now there's also the odd waft of flowers and the pervading stench of pickled onions!!!!

More later - review and photos of Knitting and Stitching Show.

You were there too?! Will pop back later for your update! xx

As for smells - cut a lemon in half and leave it out like that. Got rid of our rancid milk stench...or did it really just overpower it?!

I swear by Nag Champa Incence. You'll get it in "new age" or "indian" or "hippy" shops. Its sweet smelling and comes in a blue packet. The best though is in a yellow packet and comes from Nepal. I love the smell - my Bro in Law says it smells like hippies - some don't. But it will get rid of hte nasty smell. I find it VERY effective against that nasty frying smell you get when the oil's been too hot (or when teenagers have been playing with your frying pan grr).

I think you should have a massive fancy-dress party where everybody drinks lots of wine and beer and smokes.
Your kitchen will certainly smell different the next morning.
Not quite the sort of smell you want?
Oh. Stick to the incense then!
